And the simple idea that it was free makes me cry inside that people out there enjoyed this great game series as much as I did that they dedicated so much time to not only make the game over but to go above and beyond to make sure even the sounds, the music, was just as genuine and refreshing as the original with more to offer.
Now there’s where too many tracks I remember from when I was kid playing this with my neighbor and my older brothers and hearing them either remastered and remixed so well brings a strong feeling of nostalgia and happiness that it makes me want to play the game even more. The original composer “ Yuzo Koshiro” really captured that Western feel from the time frame in which this type of music really was popular. It seems despite the violent theme of the game allowing you to beat every single thug you come in contact with, the soundtrack makes it seem more action packed and groovy that it’s actually surprising how well it fits the atmosphere. The style for this game was more of a old school 80s-90s funk in which you might be able to dance to practically all of the tracks (I mean literally). This bad boy has well over 100 tracks of old school glory and then some in which makes it all the more sweeter to obtain. This Soundtrack includes 4 discs (folders really) of BGMs made, remixed, and remastered for the game to accompany your gameplay.
The Streets of Rage Remake Ultimate Soundtrack is a free downloadable soundtrack available on the Streets of Rage Remake Onlinewebsite. But this is not the review of the game, this is the review of the music that plays while you beat people up on the streets. You can play it by yourself but the fun really kicked in when you played with a friend or family member. Now this game was amazing to play back in the day where local gaming and when having two game controllers was a necessity. Now for the people who aren’t familiar with the franchise, well it’s an old school beat em up game from the early 90s. An 8 year old project that stemmed from 2003 to 2011 made by fans for fans of the old series that hailed on the Sega Genesis.
That gaming being “ Streets of Rage Remake“. This time I’m going to review the soundtrack to a game I recently got my hands on that I believe that most fans of retro gaming should get themselves. Alright time to tackle another game soundtrack.
